  2. An existing CD-ROM?

Use CDRWin to extract your disc to a CUE/BIN image.

Or use CloneCD to extract it to the CloneCD format.

  3. so I'll just use CDRWin to extract my SVCDs that I've burned to bin/cue. Easy enough.

I guess I could also use WinISO to convert them to .iso format.

  4. Perhaps someone else can answer this for me, but I'm not sure if the ISO format can actually represent an image of a VCD (i.e., multitracked, with different mode and form sectors).

    CUE/BIN image format can.

At the same time, CUE/BIN don't support everything either (e.g., multisession discs -- but you don't need to worry about these for S/VCD).

  5. Thanks for the help....

I just used WinISO to make an .iso file of an SVCD... it worked great and Daemon Tools recognizes the image file.

So I guess to help you out ... yes, an .iso can represent an image of an SVCD.
