In essence I am trying to get some footage from a digital camera onto DVD to watch on TV using a stand alone player.
I can:
capture the footage OK at 720 x 576 into an AVI
Edit it etc etc in Premiere and output again at 720 x 576
Convert to MPEG2 using TMPGEnc using settings found through a link on this site, can't remember where it is now!
Bung this into DVDit PE for authoring and to burn the disc
Problem is that when the footage is viewed on the TV at 4:3 it appears that the picture is cropped top, bottom, left and right! It all looks fine when the MPEG and AVIs are viewed on the PC but not on the TV. I can change the TV set up so it squashes the picture to 16:9 and low and behold I can now see all the footage but squashed!!
This implies to me something wrong with the TV but is there something I am missing on the PC part of the process?
Not much to go on but any advice / help would be smashing.
Cheers
