  1. my question is about the chapters: it says in the guide to double click in the chapter point and move it to the preview window. but how will i know where the chapter point will be? do i have to play the whole movie to mark the chapters? i tried that, and everytime after i create a chapter (after i paused the movie), the movie starts to play again from the begining.

    someone please help!!

  2. Yes that is how it is done, but you also have the option of using the timecode of the movie to set it where you want it.

I am not sure of how or what your source video is, but when I use a video editing program (Adobe Preimere) and the video has a lot of chapters I write the timecode down for each chapter point then when I import it into DVDit, I type in the timecode right beside the timeline under Menu/Movie list (C is for chapters) (T is for timecode) click on the T to change it to C and enter your timecode and hit enter on your keyboard and it will set your chapter at the point.

Or double click where you think you want a chapter, hold down control key and drag the chapter point until you see where you want to put the chapter point

As far as it starting at the beginning again you need to set the END ACTION of each chapter to do this, drag a chapter point to the menu background or video monitor and right click on it and select link properties
you can set it to loop, do nothing, go to menu, same as next, etc.

  3. Lua,

To add a chapter point at a specific location
1 Click the Timecode T button. It changes to a C.
2 Enter the timecode where you want to add the chapter point and press Enter:
The new chapter point appears at the location you entered.
Note: DVDit! will not let you create the new chapter point if one already exists at this location.
    Use the timecode format
    hours:minuteseconds:frames

  4. hey dvd advisor, thanks.

i'm doing that, but i can only create one chapter. i tried to create another after 10 minutes from the first one, and the error "can not create the new chapter point. a chapter point must be at least 15 frames from the previous/next chapter" kicks in. then i tried to put the timecode to 00:30:00:00 (30 minutes) and the same message appears again.

is that normal? can i only make very few chapters with dvdit? i think something is wrong because it seems more than 15 frames for me.

by the way, i'm using subsync to see the timecode.

    thanks again for your help.

  5. Lua,

I am not sure why it is not working for you, Just for testing purposes

After making Chapter #2, click on the chapter point to de-select it where it is not showing Chapter 2 then set your next chapter point using the time code.

YOU CAN NOT MAKE ANOTHER CHAPTER POINT WHEN ONE IS HIGHLIGHTED

YOU CAN NOT MAKE A CHAPTER WHEN YOU ARE LESS THAT 15 FRAMES FROM THE LAST CHAPTER because that would be 1/2 second

  6. ok, i fought it coulb be the highlighted thing, but it's not. it's so weird because if i double click in the timeline, other chapter is created with no sweat. but i don't want to this since the chapters with be just ramdon (as i don't know where in the movie i am clicking).

i didn't install the power dvd version that came with dvdit (because it said to unistall any dvd player i had, and don't want to unistall windvd). could that be the reason?

when i try to play the movie with dvdit play buttom, it starts ok for a few seconds, then go to fast, and then the images frezes, altough the sound is ok. does that interfer at anything about making chapters?

also, i noticed that in the guide, when you make those small windows/buttoms for the chapters, an image appears in the window/button. in my project it doesnt apear. it's just the clean button/window. is that normal too? in the final dvd, will it be a clean button or a button with a picture from the movie?

    i'm almost giving up...

thanks anyway. great help. take care.
