  1. Please could anyone help this Newbie idiot!
I have tried to do what I thought should be easy enough but fail each time I try.. I want to , in the end , to be able to put my video onto a disc to be able to play on my Bush 2013 DVD player.
I realise there are a number of issues here but I think I may be wasting my time due to the CD Writer not being up to it !
Could anyone help and put me out of me misery, please.
    The Writer in question is:
    HP SureStore, CD-Writer Plus 7100i/e I believe

    Thanks

You really need to give some more information to get an answer for this question
Like what are you trying to burn???
You said you want to put play something on your standalone player - do you want to play VCD,SVCD,Mini DVD or what??
What burning software are you using???
If the software is older or worse what's originally bundled with the burner ditch it and get something newer like Nero

As far a I can remember the 7100's are an older drive but still should support all the required formats

  3. Thanks.
VCD is what I have attempted to do..
I have captured via WIn TV card and NANOCOSMOS with the recomended way for a mpeg to become a VCD I have then used NERO.
Something is burned onto the disc but I cannot play it anywhere..
My PC locks up if either the DVD or CD bays used . My Bush shows VCD in the top left corner but eventually displays error incorrect file type.
    PS
I have tried to do a mp3 using NERO and that has not worked either - then I noticed that the blank CDs are 80 Minutes and all my refs are for 74 minutes.. so am I failing cos of this?.
I have asked a mate to try my mpeg on his PC/NERO so I await these results.
I think I will have to invest in some newer hardware.

When you burned it in Nero -
did you choose a VCD template
and leave standard compliance turned ON
this should create a working VCD
Then the only other concern is whether your stand-alone can read the media you've choosen

    no the 74min - 80min question doesn't matter

  5. Ta,
Yes to all. Tried the hack on the Bush, from this site, for VCD. But doesn't play on the PC either which is supposed to play them.
I will be trying on other equipment tonight.
    Fingers crossed.

  6. I am not fond of HP CD drives, many errors and failures.

Try burning a short MPG as a data disk, standard mode. Also try burning some small data files to see if your burner is working correctly. If one or both of these fail, try a different burning program, if that fails, assuming you have tried more than one brand of media, and CDR and CD-RW, your burner is likely defective.

When you play these in the PC, is the HP your only CD drive?

  7. Thanks.
' burned my mpeg on my mates - VCD and SVCD.
VCD worked on his DVD.. Both on his PC DVD..
I then got both to work on my DVD - stand alone.
I will try mine (HP)again but I think I may have a problem/is not up to it.. It burns data/pc files ok.

ihave th HP and a Toshiba DVD/CD drive

    I think I may !??
