I have a Pentium III 500MHZ Processor, 288 of ram, 80 gig h/d, Voodoo 3000 16mb graphics card. I am thinking seriously about getting a Sony Dru 500 internal dvd writer, Is my system big enough to cope with this dvd writer ?![]()

Probably, and depends on what you do. I do low level hardware so haven't needed a super system and am just getting into video, and bought the Cendyne DVR-105 4X writer from Office Max last week. Minimum listed is a P3 450 MHz or so, but running fine in my K6-2 450. Of course I'm going to upgrade shortly for encoding etc since it's only $200 or so to make a much better system, but it's working fine just to write for now and play on my $60 DVD player even on my slow system.. With a P3 you should be all set.

For doing the burning you are ok (box says P2 400 for drive, P3 600 for crappy myDVD). For encoding mpeg2 you will take a long time but it will happen.
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'
