  1. Hi I'm trying to convert an avi file to mpeg 2 using TMPGEnc with the normal settings I always use (which has always worked), but the end mpeg file has no sound.
I tried using honestech mpeg encoder 3.0 and LSX Mpeg Encoder, and get the error message "encoder can accept only uncompressed 8- or 16-bit PCM audio sampled at 11.025,32,44.1, 48KHz).
I don't understnd the error message, is there a way of solving this issue to allow me to convert the avi to mpeg?

Use VitualDub to save out the audio as uncompressed wav.

May the force be with you.

Then maybe the source is using a audio codec you don't have ?
vdub > file > file information
    What's it say ? Unknown ? = AC3

    Also..
    TMPGEnc > Option > environment settings > VFAPI plug-ins >
Right click "DirectShow multimedia file reader" > select higher priority
do it several times until its at the top with a value of 4
