  1. I'm trying to import the ac3 audio file into DVDMaestro and i get the error: "cannot locate a frame SYNC word at an expected byte offset. Data may be corrupted. (0xc1070042)"

    Anyone seen this before, and if so you could you please impart some words of wisdom. Any help is appreciated.

  2. I had this happen one time before when I used DVD2SVCD's advanced options to create a DVD-R. DVD2SVCD is NOT that good for making DVD-R's, as there are many bugs and sync issues. It is GREAT for making SVCD'S. I am assuming you are using DVD2SVCD to get your .AC3 file. If so, get your .AC3 file another way, like using Smart Ripper or DVD Decryptor. If you aren't using DVD2SVCD, then I have no clue, because the ONLY time I got that error in Maestro was when I used DVD2SVCD for making a backup of a DVD.

  3. Download the latest BeSweet package from http://besweet.notrace.dk unpack it in the %PROGRAMFILES%\DVD2SVCD\BESWEET folder.

    (Sync issues? where?)

  5. I've spent hours trawling through various forums to find an answer to this error - Heres one that sounds good but I've not tried it yet.

    Apparently it has something to do with multi-angles.
    Use DVD Decrypter and check whether the movie has multi-angles, if it has you must Decrypt using File mode and enable Multi angle processing (retain angle 1) in the File Mode Settings, then carry on as normal

    Hope this helps - Let me know if it works

  6. @BJ_M, use DVD2SVCD to make a DVD-R of Superman and/or Attack of the Clones, NTSC, R1. You'll see the sync issues. DVD2SVCD posted to download the latest besweet packagae as it will correct these sync issues apparently. I will try it, but being I think it is odd that I NEVER had a single sync issue when making SVCD's with DVD2SVCD, but when making DVDR's, the sync was there sometimes. I think that is odd, because besweet is used for both.

  7. No! the reason I posted that he should update his besweet was to avoid the problems in dvd maestro ("cannot locate a frame SYNC word at an expected byte offset. Data may be corrupted. (0xc1070042)"). The sync word has nothing to do with async problems. The sync word is an offset to an AC3 "frame".

    There is no sync errors in dvd2svcd if you use the internal ripping routines (atleast none that I have ever experienced).

    The only way I was able to fix the sync issues I had with backing up "Blood Work", was to actually *do* most everything using DVD2SVCD. Worked like a charm! There is a "super newbies" guide on the site here somewhere which tells you exactly how to do a DVD-R with DVD2SVCD.

  9. i used DVD Decrypter for the rip and DVD2SVCD for the reencode.

    @Crunchie:

    i'll check it for multiangles and repost with results....

    problem clarification: trying to import an ac3 asset and get that "sync" error message.....can't even mux it to determine if there is even any actual a/v sync issues.

    thanx for the help...

    you are talking about 2 different types of sync issues -- that error is not a audio/video sync issue but a ac3 stream issue
