Settings for DVD2AVI - TMPGEnc?

I am in need of some help to get the right settings to create a DVD2AVI project and send it through TMPGEnc, with the final result being a MPEG2 file.

Is someone has done this before, could you enlighten me as to the settings you have used? I have tried several rounds and have yet to discover the right combination to generate an acceptable picture.

So far, I've found that I have to set 'Field Operation' to 'Forced Film' in DVD2AVI -- otherwise the ending video is really choppy. Beyond that, I am not sure what other settings really effect the project.

In TMPGEnc I am using a 2 Pass VBR with a low/high of 0/9800 and am playing with the average (5000-6000 probably in the end). Under the Advanced tab I have 'Noise reduction' checked, but that is it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for some other settings I can try?

Enable IVTC with "10" Pattern.

Is that in DVD2AVI or TMPGEnc? I looked in both but couldn't find anything that was exactly that.
Can you point me to the right menu?
