  1. I have a LITE-ON 16x dvd I use to rip DVDs with. I used DVD Decrypter and ripped movies using BOTH "file" mode and "ifo" mode; however, I cannot play my ripped movies with powerdvd. The guide at doom9 says that all you need to do is press "control-O" to open the ifo file and it should play.. when I open the file in powerdvd nothing happens, I just keep seeing that darn powerdvd logo screen. My version of powerdvd is 4.0. Can somebody please help me?

  2. I think power dvd will only play the actual movie vobs, when a movie has been ripped. So just select them in select source/open media files

  3. PowerDVD will play both vob's individually, and Rips on the HD. Depending on wich version/skin you are using, the selection button is in a different place. you need to select file mode though, by right clicking it, you will see the option to open a media file OR open a dvd set on a HD.

  4. got the same thing when I tried to check of the episode 3 from X files DVD was ripped ok. I loaded the ifo and nothing happened. because it ripped the files in: VTS_01_1_PGC_3.vob, etc.
Load the .VOB file instead and it will play it

  5. I don't think PowerDVD is going to play an IFO.
When you rip in file mode are you ripping the entire dvd or just the movie files?
When DVD Decrypter auto-selects movie files only you end up with no VIDEO_TS.IFO file.
If you want to play on your hard drive try ripping entire DVD.

Also make sure that the files are in \VIDEO_TS folder.

Not using PowerDVD here...but with WinDVD I just dbbl click on the first .ifo (video_ts.ifo) file in the directory list to play the movie.
