  1. Hello everybody,

I own a Yamaha DVD-S510 DVD player and I'd have a copuple of questions about it.

First of all I would like to update the firmware: how do I find out which version of firmware I have on my Yamaha DVD-S510, where can I find the latest version and what do I have to do (I have read something somewhere on the Net but I can not remember ...)?

Then I would like to unlock it, that means: make it region free (it is a region 2 unit at the moment). I have tried with <PLAY> 159 222 222 005 255 <PLAY> but it did not work: I had to remove the power cord to switch it off!!
I have read that the unit can be hacked using a one for all 6 remote with the code URC-7560: is it the only way? I would not like to buy a remote I only have to use once ...

Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thank you very much in advance.

    All the best

  3. other yamada use 123 play for firmware version or is it play 123?
    search www.google.com "firmware" "playername"
Insert your player name where I have put playername.
