  1. Hi. This video stuff is making my head swim. Much more complex than mp3.

    I can not get my digital captures from my sony camera and fire wire to work in virtualdub. I am trying like crazy to get my home movies to divx so I can put the tapes away.

    I don't know how the dv avi. differs from a regular avi.

    I have the vcd, and svcd thing down pretty good. but that is not how I want to archive my stuff.

    So any one that has a dv cam and fire wire, we need to talk. Any one else who can help, we can talk too.

    Try Canopus DV File Converter, which is a lossless converter between DV formats.

  3. Ok, I do have the Canopus procoder. Is this the progi that you are talking about? I see that Divx does show up it also.
