  1. I'm trying to cut a few mpeg2 videos with tmpge.
I can hear the video but can't see it? Any ideas
It took forever to encode avi to mpeg 2 (my home movies) now I wanted to cut them to smaller clips but hate to have to wait hours to re encode,
    Signed, so frustrated

  2. Have you tested the MPG in a normal player to ensure it's a good file and that you have the proper codecs to view it?

  3. Yes I have a player on my computer and I burned a test svcd and it all worked. I'm a super newbie even though I've read so many posts it's all so confusing. I also wondered if there is a way to copy the svcd files once I've burned them to cd. Just for future use after I erase them from my computer. Thanks

  4. 1) To back up your SVCD MPG, you can do a normal data disk and dump it on there as you would any regular file.

    2) I've been trying to figure out what the cut/edit issue is. When you say you burnt an SVCD and tested it, do you mean on your normal DVD Player or on your PC? I'd assume if you can play it on your PC successfully then you probably have all of the right codecs loaded. A good test is your Windows Media Player. In my opinion, if it works there it should work anywhere.

If it doesn't play on your PC, then I'll give you links to go off an hunt down codecs.

Any more info you can provide would help. fyi.. You should also fill out your profile, so when you ask questions others will know what kind of system, OS, DVD Player etc.. you have.
