    After I made my first couple of DVD's from my home videos, I noticed that they are fullscreen, is there a way to get them widescreen. I used TMPG to encode and DVDit professional to do the rest of the authoring.

    What tv set are you using for playback?
    is your dvd set to manual letterbox?
    what is the source aspect ratio? x:y

    I think after you answered theese questions you will have the solution to your problem
