  1. I have had my 105 for 3 weeks. I burned a movie this morning and it worked fine. ( only done 5 movies so far)Tonite I tried to burn another movie with recordnow max, but it kept on chucking out the disc, so I tried another brand(FWS) it chucked that out also. I then put in my dvd-rw and it chucked that out as well even though I have used it a few times before. I then tried with nero, and eventually it burnt the disc but it wouldn,t play back nor would the dvd burner read what it had written. When I tried to read the disc contents on nero it couldn't find the disc" no disc in drive" when there was, it just wrote it.Could the dvd-rw be shagged all ready? Im totally stressed, can you guys help?

    This is the message I get with recordnow max;

    Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-105 (D ATAPI (1.00)
    PX.DLL - 1.1.0.358
    PXMAS.DLL - 1.5.0.109
    PXWAVE.DLL - 1.2.0.85
    PXWMA.DLL - 1.0.0.2
    OLEAUT32.DLL - 3.50.5014.0
    MSVBVM60.DLL - 6.0.92.37
    MSCOMCTL.OCX - 6.0.88.62
    MSCOMCT2.OCX - 6.0.88.4
    PXHelp20.SYS - 2.2.39.0
Total load of b*ll*cks to me

    Nero says
    "Power callabration error"

  3. First of all, wich version of nero and Record Max Now are you using?

First, you should use at least nero 5.5.9.17 and Record Max Now 4.5.

Second, make the firmware upgrade of your pioneer.

    Best regards.

  5. I would try the usual troubleshooting steps:

Did you install or uninstall any s/w, you might have created a conflict, like with the ASPI layer or something

Power off the computer, check and reseat cabling and power. (reseat the cable on the motherboard too)

Check UDMA mode on the IDE channel for the drive (mine works fine in UDMA mode 2, but some people seem to contend that is should be PIO)
Check the IDE channel setup in the motherboard bios too

Move drive to a different IDE channel or device (slave/master) if possible

Uninstall and reinstall the drive in Device Manager by uninstalling it, restarting, and letting the OS "find" it again (check and correct UDMA mode after this)

    Change the IDE cable

Try it in a different computer if possible

Then again, your drive may have given up the ghost, it happens!!

  6. Sorry to say it, but I think your writer IS shagged. The same thing happened to me and my pioneer DVR-104. It suddenly stopped reading and writing R and RW disks of all types. It was 2 months (25 writes) old.

The nice people i bought it from examined it and sent me a new DVR-105!
The pisser is that the 25 Datasafe v3.2 white top disks i bought don't work in the 105.

  7. It seems that the media is at fault ...

bulkpaq gen 4 burns with nero ,but wont play.
White label .. dont work at all
    FWS.. dont work at all

I have notice that all of the above are a light colour dye. I got a couple of discs from my mate that are a nice dark purple dye and they seem o.k.....sort of.

The problem now is recordnow max. Its still rejecting everything, even my dvd-rw which used to work fine in it and the nice purple dvd-rs. I also used some mirror dvd-r with it the other day, but it wont accept them also!!

    Any ideas?

    Hi
I dont mean to rub your nose in it.But I think there
could be a problem with your writer, i would personally send it back.
Ive copyed over 50 dvds with my pioneer 105 and had no problem
    [touch wood]
I used a variety of dvd-r media with no problem.
I use primo prassi and nero latest version.
It seems to me you have a laser problem there.
