I used Nero (5.5.10.0, latest version) to convert an .AVI file to VCD and burnt it to a CD. In my DVD Player (Pioneer DV-354) the audio lags behind the video by about 3 seconds.

How can I correctly synchronize the audio & video? Should I be using a different program?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  2. Try using TMPGenc as this is better than Nero for converting to mpeg. If you still have synch issues there is a facility to delay the audio and if you go that bit further nad use TMPGenc to demultiplex into separate audio/video streams and then remux using bbmpeg you should avoid synch issues.

I then use VCDEasy to convert the mpeg into bin and cue files and also to insert chapters etc so you can jump forward in the film! You could then use this or Nero to burn.

Personally i have always found the audio delay in TMPGenc good enough via trial and error. However if you search these forums you will find all the answers you need.

    Hope this helps TOM

    Thanks!

One remaining question....once I have the audio synchronized for one AVI conversion (to VCD) will it be applicable to other AVIs or will it have to be tweaked for each file.
