Is there anyway I can determine how many Frames Per Second (FPS)
My Computer manages to encode Under TMPGenc ?
I have been watching the frame count in the top corner increase but I dont think that this is giving me a true reading........
If I encode to Standard VCD the increment step is 18 Frames
&
If I encode to DVD Full D1 the increment step is 15 Frames.......
(DVD Rip using Smart Ripper & Frame served with DVD2AVI)
But, as I have already mentioned I dont think thats a true 'FPS' Reading!
Either way,
My reason for knowing is that I am toying with the idea of upgrading my processor / Computer..... from my present Intel P4 1700 to the P4 3.06 ..
And if the upgrade is realy gonna make that much difference!
If anyone would be kind enough to share their own results with this method or whatever(There maybe a better way of calculating the true FPS?)
Im running an 'INTEL P4 1700' + A Gig of 133 Ram.
Thanks in advance.![]()

whether you can tell the speed of encoding to the exact frames per second is irrelevant. Speed of encoding is directly proportional to the speed of your processor(when talking 1 P4 to another), therefore, going from 1.7 to 3.06 will net you a noticable increase in encoding speed. maybe even almost a doubling...
what are you askin' me for...
I'm an idiot! -
