  1. I have been reading about the differences in sector for mode2/form2 encoding as used in VCD.
I realize that VCD over the net comes mostly as a disk image in cue/bin format. And that once we have such an image, it can be burned as a VCD using any ordinary program which need not to be made specifically for VCD burning.
I am also aware that data CD disk images can also be distributed. ( with the included ISO file system )

While reading about how data is actually stored in the CD, I found out that there are a lot of error correction and header info not included in the 'data' we store.

    My questions are
    1. When we have a VCD CUE/bin image, is the complete sector, with the sector headers and error correction bits, included in the image
    2. Is this true for data CD images.
    3. Is there any basic differences between the data CD image and VCD image.

    Thanks for reading.

  2. I cannot be certain of this, but I think that the CUE/BIN image that VCDImager creates includes the full sector information (i.e., the header, EDC, etc.).

As for an "ISO" of a data disc, that depends on the actual format of the image on how much info it actually contains. If it is a RAW image, it may also contain the ECC data. If it is not, then it is usually up to the burner to recreate the ECC/EDC info on the fly when the image is burnt.

    Regards.
