Hey everyone, I am brand new to this subject of dvd burning, In fact I don't have my burner yet (still waiting for my DRU500). Anyway, I have made a few attempts with making VCD's, slideshows, etc with my TDK cdrw. Here's what I want to do:
1. Mostly copy all my minidv home shot movies, (usually 30-45minutes) each, onto one NICE DVD home show to send all our friends and family. (We are stationed overseas). W/ transitions etc...Tried movie fact. 2, but don't have transitions etc...)
2. Occasionally backup (ok copy)some commercial DVD's.
3. Backup my hard drives and files.
THAT's IT!
Can someone point me in the right direction for a good inexpensive software program. around 50-100.00$$$???? Thanks in advance.![]()

I think you better start reading the guides on the left:
To backup DVD'S I use smartripper, dvd2avi, TMPGenc and Recordnow DX to burn.
To back up my digital video I use Ulead video studio 6 transferred by firewire and then use TMPGENC to covert the captured video to an mpg to burn to disc.
To understand most of this I would start reading the guides as there are many different software systems some free and some notI dunno...it might work -
You can download demos software to find out which one works best for you.
