  1. Hi all,

Sorry to bother but im having trouble re-encoding this Xvid Buffy Episode. I tried doing it through TMPEGenc and the file comes to over 1 gig which doesnt seem right, when a normal episode is arounf 430mb. When I Stopped it and played it back there was no sound. Your help will b greatly appreciated. Thanks

  2. Gaz,

What format are you encoding it too in TMPGenc ? VCD or DVD ?
If it is DVD or SVCD then it will get bigger and a little over 1 GB sounds about right if the Xvid file is around 420MB. MPEG2 does not seem to compress as well as MPEG4 which is what Xvid is. If you are trying to fit it onto CD's you will have to split it onto 2 CD's most likely. You can adjust the S/VCD settings and lower the quality to try and fit it onto 1 CD, but that is up to you.

As far as no sound, that means the audio must be in either MP3 or AC3 format and must be de-multiplexed in Virtualdub or anther program like it, and coverted to WAV and then remultiplexed back into the Xvid video file and then put into TMPGEnc and encoded. The guides to do this I believe are on this site. If not, checkhttp://doom9.org/ they have a very good site for anythig Xvid related.

  4. Then perhaps you could try a VCD template, their are some tweaked to fit larger movies onto 1 CD, though I am unfamiliar with them. This site I am sure has them though.
