Here's what I'm doing. I'm backing up my Digital Video tapes onto DVD-R (Accu Media) through a Sony DRU-500a DVD+/-RW drive. Specifically, I'm capturing AVI video from my DV camera to my harddrive in 15-minute segments, which produces 3.3 GB file per segment. I then write each segment to a DVD-R, which required four discs per tape. I've made two sets of four for three tapes (i.e., 24 discs).
The capture and the burn goes fine (I'm using "RecordNow"). I'm able to open and view the AVI file on disc; however, if I try to copy it I get the following error message, "Error Copying File: Cannot create or replace 'filenm': The parameter is incorrect". I'm running W98SE. I can open the AVI, on the DVD-R, in Pinnacle 7.xx or Virtualdub and then save that file onto my harddive. The problem with that is that it would take 1.5 to 2 hours to copy one file.
To see if the problem is with "RecordNow", I've tried using Nero (UDF) to burn to the DVD-R but the burn failed on two of two attempts.
Is there anyway I can do a direct copy from disc to harddrive? Why are my burns in Nero (22.214.171.124) failing?

Basically, trying to copy a file larger than 2-GB in W98SE is a known problem and produces an error. The work around is to do the copy under MSDOS, which I did and which worked. By the way, this is NOT a problem is you're running W2000 or XP, just W98 / W98SE.
