Trying to Convert wmvs to avi but no luck

So I got virtual dub and I got stoik. Virtual dub refuses to open my wmv, so I tried to do the graphit to virtual dub thing but that failed. Stoik converts it but it ether plays the video in fastforward or locks and loops on the first couple scenes. I'll be the first to say I'm new to all this but I just thought I might get some help here if anyone knows what my problems is (other than being a snot nosed newbie).

Vdub 1.3C, Vdub 1.4 ASF and Graphedit will all convert those type of movies, sometimes a original M$ codec can provent you.
