Avi Files to DVD Format

Well, i asked this question, had a lot of views and no responses, so i figured i must;ve made it prety hard to understand so i will simplify it, and hopefully someone can help me out.

I converted a DIVX AVI file to a DVD compatible MPEG2 video with TMPGENC. Added the file to SonicMyDVD, i went to preview and it only put about 10 seconds on there. I thought maybe the software was just messing up, so i burned it anyways. Sure enough only 10 seconds played, and shot me right back to the menu. So i decoded another movie and it did the same thing. Well, i have decoded about 20 music videos now, using the exact settings as when i did my movies, and SonicMyDVD accepted them with ease. (Full length, everything working) Anybody know what's going on with this.

Also, i tried with nero, and it told me to use UDF mode, so i did. Went into UDF mode and dragged the file in there, it never processed it like it does with VCD's, so i thoght that was weird. Burned it with UDF Mode 1.02. Popped it into my standalone it read it as a DVD then said disc error. Now, my DVD player plays audio dvd's, vcd's, svcd's and pretty much everything else except DIVX. So i know my DVD player isnt the problem. I just got ULEAD Movie Factory so hopefully that works. I'll list my system epcs in case anyone has questions about that.

AMD Athlon xp 200+
ECS Mainboard with 266 FSB (little old i know)
Xtasy 64 MB Geforece 3 video card
Sound Blaster MP3 + Xgamer audio card (guys even at soundblaster never heard of this, so maybe i got the only one )
100 gig wester digital 7200 rpm hard drive
HP 200i DVD Burner
Plextor 8x Cd Writer.
Windows 98 SE.

That should be good enough. Any help would be much appreciated.

You might want to try some of the different Bitsetters out there that are free, it allows your burner to burn all +R and +RW's as DVD-ROM which has a very high playback rate with other DVD players when used
