Hi guys,
I'm a beginner and I've been using DVD2SVCD 1.1.0B1c to encode my DVDs to SVCD along with TMPGENC 2.58.x and CCE 2.50.
Now since I am Portuguese and I need subtitles I found out that there are 2 selectable subtitle formats: SVCD and CVD.
I have 2 home DVD players and one is SVCD compatible while the other is CVD compatible...
Already getting the picture?
Ok, I know that DVD2SVCD uses a tool called WinSubMux that has the capability of multiplexing up to 4 subtitle streams individually of either SVCD or CVD format.
I have encoded the first 2 minutes of a movie to MPEG-2 and tried to use WinSubMux 0.2.0.2 to manually multiplex 2 subtitle streams: one is SVCD format and the other one is CVD format.
So I think I ended up with:
- 2mins of MPEG-2 video on 480*576 frames
- 2mins of Stereo audio on 192Kbps
- 1 stream of Portuguese SVCD subtitling
- 1 stream of Portuguese CVD subtitling
I took this MPEG-2 file and I built a cue/bin image with VCDEasy 1.1.3 and burned it to a standard 80min CD-RW disc that I regularly use to make my experiments.
I tried this CD on several home DVD players and I found it doesn't play the subs on anyone of them including both mine...
Does anyone know if what I am trying to do is achievable?
If so I just have to make one set of CDs instead of two.
And afterwards I could ask the coder from DVD2SVCD to implement this feature.
Thanks and a happy new year to everybody.
