  1. Ok, first I have been reading everything I can find and am still lost so have mercy. I have several movies that have been ripped with Smartripper in movie mode. I don't have all the extra stuff, just the vobs and files for the main movie. What do I need to do to get these onto a DVD (for a standalone)? Lets keep it simple and assume that they are less than 4.7 GB. I'll spread my wings to larger goals once I get this down. My DVD came with Sonic My DVD (looks very basic) and I have several of the popular programs mentioned in this forum.
Thanks for the guidence, oh wise ones!

  3. Try This. Run IfoEdit v0.95, Click on "Create IFOs" then select the first vob file of your movie. This will create The Bup and Ifo file you need.
Then use Nero to burn to DVD-R.

    Good Luck.

  4. So do I understand that if I use ifoedit to create the IFO for the vobs I ripped, that information could be placed in a video-TS (forgot the spelling) directory on the DVD and a standalone should read it and take off?
    Thanks!

Another good basic tutorial are the ones at www.dvd2dvdr.com

I found them the perfect place to start when learning the basics

can u please let us know if this worked, with only using IFOEDIT

basically if that is the case
then all that needs to be done is use smart ripper, ifoedit and then nero or some burning software to get the image on a dvd

    right?

  7. It works great for me, I have used this method about twenty times. And if the VOBs are to big i put half in one dir and the other half in another and rename to _1 _2 _3 etc. and then use this method to create both disks.

  8. I'll p-ost reseults as soon as I can find an update for my nero 5.5. It doesn't seem to have any dvd support and the Nero express that came with my drive looks like an iffy program. I am also looking for a place to find Demos of DVD maestro and CCE 2.5.
    Thanks folks.

  10. Tryed this method with Monsters Inc and ot worked. Ripped movieVOB and IFO, updated with IFOedit and burned. Worked well but the media I have (Memeorex) craps out about 3/4 the way into the movie (major Pixilation)
