  1. hi there.......
    I'm facing this weird problem

    I'm using VirtualDub 1_4_12

I have DIVX 5.02, AC3 and some other codecs installed.

Everytime I convert a .mpeg file into avi.....I can't play that file
a 46MB mpeg file...after converting it into avi is 5MB......and I can't play it(of course.....its impossible to go THAT low)

    Any idea on this? thanks.

ps: I was converting my music videos(all in mpeg)

    4. Video Compression --->>>>>>DivX 5.0.2
    Settings
    2-Pass, Second Pass(900kbps)

Save File as AVI(ADDED TO JOB CONTROL)

    Went back to Video Compression
    Settings
    2-Pass, First Pass(900kbps)

Save file as AVI(ADDED TO JOB CONTROL)

Pressed F4 and so I start the job control thingy

    output:

Just as a troubleshooting idea you might try using VDub to do a one pass conversion and displaying the output. If you can see the output in VDub then chances are you'll be able to play it in media player, divx player, BS player etc.... If not, then you probably have a codec install problem. If the one pass works and the two does not then you have a problem with your two pass settings.

IMHO - Xmpeg or the various yuv mode flask versions are superior for converting mpeg to divx as you can keep everything in the yuv colorspace and achieve greater speed.

    Anyway good luck
