I have an analog camcorder hooked up to my Sony TRV-18 which is hooked up via firewire to my computer (P4 1.6 with 512 RAM). I am capturing 8MM movies in Pinnacle 7 as DV-AVI. My hard drive is a 200 Gig, 7200 RPM 8 Meg Cache.
The first 30 to 40 minutes come out perfectly. After that, it starts getting out of synch. The problem is that once you notice it, even if it is an 1/8 of a second off, it is the only thing you notice.
I have duplicated the problem with other tapes, so I know it is not the tape. I have an outrageous amount of software on my computer, including several video editing software apps (trials and full versions). It is getting so frustrating that I have two choices: 1) capture in 1/2 hours AVI clips or 2) reformat HD and reinstall windows XP and only the software that I will use. If anybody has any ideas, please let me know. (Note: I had a similar experience with Ulead Video Studio 6, so I don't think it is unique to Pinnacle). Thank you for your helpl
