  1. I bought 2 from circuit City Model ad 1201 Apex and one will play my vcd and the other one won't. It is suppose to play vcd's. Is there a serial number or something I should check because I am going to return it.

I tried the same exact vcds in both.

Same model Apex 1201 from Circiut City
    Same actual vcd I made
works in one but not the other, the bad one did play vcd's before.

    Any help is great

    thanks

  2. Apex removed the ability to play VCD from their players (I belive in April). It would seem you have one manufactured before april, and the other after.

  3. Thanks Craig Tucker but odly enough it played other vcds, maybe that particular dvd unit didn't like the vcd?? I don't know.

If I can return this one will you recommend me one for around $100.00us please, this is for a old lady to view jpegs and vcd from her kids.

    Thanks

I did look at the list on the left but I was hoping for your personal opinion.

I am not really the best person to ask, being from the UK. I don't really know what is available to you in the USA

  6. I have Mintek 2580. It can play Kodak Picture CD/JPG and VCD (no SVCD, but you can still select file and play it). I believe they don't kame it anymore but it is possible that they still have some... Best Buy was it ??? Or C.C ???

  8. Get DAEWOO DVG-3000N at B.J. Wholesale for $80 per unit (some BJ sells it for $70 per unit; I don't know why there is a difference in price, maybe due to competition). It is the DVD Player that can play DVD/VCD/SVCD/DVCD/CD/MP3 ... almost any kind of media. Moreover, it can be hacked to play all regions and both NTSC/PAL. It is more sophisticated than Apex brand. I have both brands and prefer DAEWOO.
