  1. Sorry, I am a newbie ripping my cousin wedding DVD and converting to SVCD or Divx.

I have ripped my cousin wedding DVD with OS Ex. It created a VOB file. All Ok.

I went to ffmpegX (v0.0.4i) and chose that file and I put name "Sanillos" for output.

I've use the quick presets to SVCD PAL

I've used the Bitrate calculator with 3 CDs of 80min mode-2 and give me 1667 kbits/s.

In tools: Split in 3 chunks

And activate "Encode hi freq" in VCD/SVCD tab

After 16 hours working Teminal displays this log:

    Welcome to Darwin!

INFO: The MPEG encoded output file name is "/Users/ismasans/Movies/SAnillos.mp"
INFO: [mplex] File /Users/ismasans/Movies/SAnillos.m2v looks like an MPEG Video stream.
**ERROR: [mplex] Unable to open file /Users/ismasans/Movies/SAnillos.mp2 for reading.

If you see it creates a file "SAnillos.mp" and before it is looking for a "SAnillos.mp2" file.

    WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??

Is there a ffmegX user manual?

    Thank you very much

    OS X 10.2.3

  2. You use way too long file and folder names. If your disk still holds the converted video and audio elementary streams, rename the .mp file to .mp2 and use the TOOLS to select the video and audio streams and mux and post-process them (split & author). I still don't wrote a manual but Wizeman and macmercy have posted their one in this forum.

  3. His folder names are really too long? Could that be the possible reason why I am having similar problems with ffmpepx? My folder that I choose for a file and where to save to is:
    file to use: /Users/toyboy/Desktop/toisan.mov
    file to save to: /Users/toyboy/Desktop/toisan/toisan

Where do you recommend that I work on the files then? My username is only 6 characters long and I think that most people are at least working in their home directory, so that means at least 5 characters(/Users/) + their name already.

Yes. After "movies/" there was a bunch of characters (stuff like /my cousin wedding movie oh what a good movie/") which I edited away to preserve his cousin privacy.

  5. Opps, didn know that. Anyway, I think I found one of my problems. Can ffmpeg convert audio from movs that are encoded with IMA4.1?
