I am in the process of backing up my first dvd and I am using the
    DVD Decrypter
    DVD2AVI
    TMPGEnc Plus
    ChapterXtractor
    Spruce DVDMaestro

    then burn it

When the DVD2AVI is done the *.d2v file is really small (not sure if that is a problem). But then I go to put the *.d2v file into TMPGEnc and it says can't open or unsupported. Please help. The reason I chose this method is that I can keep the chapters when i burn it.

If you are using DVD2AVI new version 1.77 It has some problems I could not resolve. I don't know what version you are using I had a lot of problems with the last version (1.77). I now use 1.76 always with no problems but when I use 1.77 TMPGEnc will not work with the .d2v file so I went back to the previous version and no more problems. Hope it helps

Just to add another wrench, I just read a post that the exact reverse of what I did to fix my problem fixed their problem. So try a different version than you are using and having the problem with.

NOTE: The DVD2AVI *.d2v file is just the frameserver for the .vobs which need to be in the same folder and directory so they can be served to TMPGEnc!

DVD2AVI (note: you should try this new version first, but some users have had problems with it, so if you have problems opening the .d2v project with TMPGEnc, try version 1.76 from here) SEE ABOVE FOR LINK
