im trying to get my svcd/vcd encodes to take much less time. heres my situation.
me and a friend both encoded a 1min vcd clip (as a test) w/ TMPGEnc. Heres my system:
Windows XP SP1
1GIG PCI133 PNY Memory
1.4Ghz AMD
Ati All in wonder 8500 128mb video card
Encode time: 2min 26sec
Heres his system:
Windows XP SP1
256mb of memory
1.7Ghz Intel
Geforce 3
Encode time: 1min 47sec
The wee little bit of CPU he has over me makes a huge difference.. i couldn't believe it... so im stumped.
Why was his able to encode so much faster and what practical upgrades could i make that would make a difference?
Thanks
jerets

I've seen a lot of difference with an AMD and a Intel...I know CCE runs faster with an Intel...maybe there is the problem???
And yes...we all wear wooden shoes here in Holland...
