ATI MMC Uninstall Problems on Win XP

I'm trying to install MMC 7.2 on Win XP and I must uninstall version 6.3 first, which was installed before I upgraded to XP. When I try to uninstall I get the error message "Unable to locate the installation log file C:\Program Files\ATI Multimedia\Uninst.isu" According to the ATI Website http://mirror.ati.com/support/infobase/4000.html the only way to solve this problem is to uninstall XP, uninstall the old MMC, then reinstall XP and MMC 7.2. Is there any other way to do this without uninstalling XP?

You could try doing a "manual" uninstall. First make sure you backup the registry. To do this open Windows XP backup utility and backup System State. That is the registry information. I haven't been able to find a specific guide for the Rage Fury Pro, but here are a few guides for uninstall of similar cards:

It is entirely up to you wether you want to try this. You could mess up the registry and cause more problems. That is why I say backup the registry first.

Thanks for the quick reply. Both of these guides are for drivers though, and instruct to uninstall MMC first. Anyone manually uninstalled MMC?
