I have twice spent an age getting Avi files from the internet in 2 parts only to find that part one of a particular movie encodes and converts very easily to Vcd ...BUT... whenever I try to convert part 2 I find that TMPGEnc does not recognise the second half of the movie .
THe files I have tried are THE HOBBIT (animated) and SHREK
I am able to play the part 2 Avi file using REAL PLAYER and the files readily open ...but TMPGEnc says it cant open the file or it may be in unsupported format whenever I try to open it ??
Am i missing something very basic ??
OR is it a regular problem with films that have been split into halves ?
I am a relative NEWBIE to this movie conversion business
PLEASE help with my little problem because I now have a few seperate halves of movies half converted
Many thanks for any consideration given to this problem
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE![]()

I think that I have cured this problem by looking in the FAQs I found the answer by going under options --environmental settings ...vfapi plug in ... and altering the setting to +2 then HEY PRESTO
The part 2 files opened and became convertable
Not sure why they needed this treatment but am now very happy that It looks like i can convert all my part 2s
Many thanks and best wishes to all FORUM users
