Hello,
maybee this question sounds stupid, but perhaps somebody can help. I am thinking of buying the advc-100 and wonder, if i can capture from tv. There is no explanation about capturing from tv with the advc-100. I saw on their website a screenshot showing that it is possible to get a signal from tv into the advc-100, but no explanation. And what about capturing from a decoder? I have pay-tv and it would be great if you could capture from pay-tv- decoder.I am used to put in the cable from using cable-tv in the TV-Card or the Capture card, but the canopus only have s-video and fbas connections. I mean, capturing from pay-tv/tv would be a main reason to get a capture card or not? DVD backups i could made in the same time with cce and buying the canopus just for converting old vhs-tapes seems not worth the effort and price. Please correct me, if i am wrong. Would be great if anybody can help.

I capture from TV with the Canopus ADVC-100 by using the TV Tuner in my VCR connected the same way it's connected for capturing tapes. Of course that means your VCR has to be tuned to the station you want while you capture.
