  1. Whats up just wanted to see if any of you knew a solution to my dilemma. Every movie I encode to mpeg-2 ends up having a purple hue/haze on the top and bottom of the movie. The beginning of the movie starts off fine with no purple haze, then it slowly becomes more and more visible till it reaches a certain point where it stays crappy (around 10 min. or so into the movie). I thought it may have just been a problem with the xvid codec, but when I encoded a divx movie the haze also appeared. Any thoughts?

  4. Same thing happened to me....first time was when I got my first xvid movie, and now when I started encoding my first SVCD from DIVX it shows up again. I think the problem corrects itself every keyframe. On my movie though it doesn't only happen at the top and bottom....happens all over.

    --edit--
Also I did not use CCE, I used TMPGEnc.

  5. I think someone said that happens in the cracked version...

  6. Cracked? What's that? You mean "modification" I think. Anyways you may be right, I know that Maestro doesn't work well with the "modification" I have, so CCE may be the same. I use the same copy of CCE at work though and it works fine, so I think it may be a codec problem. I think the problem occured when I installed the huffy codec, so I uninstalled it but haven't gotten the opportunity to test it out. I'll post another reply when I get the chance to test it out and let ya guys know the results.

  7. I don't even have CCE on my computer...so how could it be that?

  8. If you didn't notice I opened this post with CCE as the error. I opened it because it's my problem. If you wanna start a post with your problem feel free to. I'm looking for solutions to MY problem with CCE. And to let people with this future problem using CCE taking out the huffy codec didn't work.

    BJ_M,

Man, a post I read before I thought had a lone that was the funniest one for the day, but your "i had some of that back in '67-71" really made me laugh.

You're answer brought back a lot of memories, or what I perceive of memories.

I ran into that problem doing divx 2 svcd... someone said install the nimo codec pack, then it went away

  12. Wish it could be that easy, I already got the Nimo Codec Pack installed. I have the new beta one though, so maybe it's the "beta" thats screwin it up. I'll un-install it and try an older version of Nimo. Thanks though, ya made me think of it.

  13. Eh, well sorry bout that buddy, but I assumed since it was the same problem and we were using different encoders CCE wasn't the problem. My bad.

  14. I ran into a problem like this about a year and a half ago, I THINK it was either a demo version or a cracked version of some player prog i installed that allowed you to modify color, tint and hue etc...but after a brief period of time it would revert back to the original signal until you purchased the program. Shortly after that i ended up getting these same results.

I am not sure, but uninstalling it may not have helped, because since i cannot recall the player, chances are i used it for an afternoon, didnt like it and uninstalled it. I was plagued by the problem, uninstalled all the codecs i could and still it persisted.....until XP finally crapped out on me and i had to reinstall...since then, no issues.

It might (dont hold me to it) have been a version of RealPlayer....

    hope that helps

  15. Hey thanks for your suggestion, I gotta few more things I'm gonna try and if none of them work, I'll reinstall XP and see if that works. If it doesn't than I'll just continue to use TMPGenc since it doesn't give me any problems. Thanks again.

  16. Hey Chaos, I'll take a snapshot of my problem and post it up on here. If ya do the same maybe someone could help us out betta. I prolly shoulda done that in the first place, but aw well. If I find somethin that works, I'll be sure to post it and see if it's your same problem. I thought it may have been codec related or Nimo related, but that didn't end up bein true.
