with video capture cards? whats Composite? is it for video? do i need a card with audio to capture it or can i use my Sound card?

"Composite" refers to a single cable video signal. The connectors look like the RCA jacks on hi-fi audio equipment. It's the standard and most common type of video connection. (and provides the lowest quality)
The only other video alternative for consumer capture would be a S-Video connection, which is only useful if you have a source that provides a S-Video signal (such as a S-VHS tape deck).
I believe most dedicated capture boards will have their own audio inputs. -
whats a good capture card (mpeg1), that has composite and s-video/audio in and out?
