  1. does anyone have a link for a tutorial that teaches how to create menus? (specially with photoshop and dvd maestro)

i read some stuff, i just don't understand how can i link a movie to a menu. let me try to explain: maybe i'm thinking in a kind of internet link, but, for example, when i put a button for chapters in my main menu, how do i know it will go to the chapters menu? and do i have to make a submenu to that chapters page? in that case, how do i put the submenu dependent to the main menu?

oh... i read a tutorial about dvd maestro, but it sounded too complicated.

    anyone? Thanks!

    take care.

the manual with maestro is complete on this subject and im sure your dealer would be happy to help you ... the tutorial on doom9 is also pretty good ..

other than that learning layers in paintshop pro or photoshop is good idea

  3. You can have as few, or as many, menus as you like. It all depends on how you wish to navigate your title when it is finished. For example, you could have a main menu which had 2 buttons - one of which said "play movie", and the other of which said "scene selections". In this instance, you'd also need to make a second menu which had a button for each of your chapters (if there are too many chapters for all the buttons to fit on, then you need to spread them across two or three menus to allow them to fit on the screen).

When you create these menus in DVD Maestro, the simplest way to link them is to hover the cursor over the button (I am assuming that you will have already defined the button "fields" over the button graphics). When you hover it over a button field, it should tell you what it is linked to. If it is not linked to anything, you can RIGHT-click on the field and then select (using the drop-down menu which will appear) what item you want that button to link to. Alternatively, you could use the "Connections" editor window, but this is not as convenient for new users.

Don't forget that Maestro includes a navigation previewer so you can test your navigation links prior to compiling your finished project. It's not difficult, so don't be frightened by the helpfile, manual, or the Doom9 tutorial - just follow them step-by-step and everything will become clear!

    Arky ;o)
