NEED HELP! What is best?

I have 2 questions.
First, I used V-coms DVD Photoplay to make picture slide shows with music. The manual just stated to use cd-rw or cd-r. I have a problem playing back the cds on my dvd player. It plays to fast. My question is what is the best type of cds to record and play back on dvd player? Can I record my show on DVD-R? What would work best?
Second, if I cannot get my picture shows to work correctly with this software, what picture show with music software would you recommend?
I need any help or suggestions any of you may have.

p.s. I have a SamsungV2000 DVD player.

I have not use V-coms DVD Photoplay so I can't say about it

But I have used Ulead.com DVD PictureShow to make 20 - 30 family albums on dvd and I you the option for cd or dvd and I have played both in a RCA DVD Player if that helps
