  1. I am very new to this, so please bare w/ me. I am trying to copy a .mpg file to play on dvd players. I have a dvd writer, and all the programs I come accross seem to only go from avi to mpeg1 or mpeg2. Do I need to convert mpg to mpeg1 (or mpeg2)? or is .mpg the same as mpeg1? Anybody's help is greatly appreciated. Also, any recommendations for good software to use for burning/converting?

  2. ok, first of all, we need to establish where your MPEG source file came from, in order to determine what framesize it is, and waht MPEG type it is. Please provide as much information as youy can and we'll take things from there.

  3. Make sure your MPEG is created to DVD specs:

Then read about different authoring programs - pick one that meets your budget and comfort level.

  4. If everything checks out you might try using the vcdeasy program found in the tools section. Check the guides section on how to use it.

vcdeasy is only for vcd or svcd. If you want to make dvds use a dvd authoring tool like ulead moviefactory(very easy to use), workshop
