  1. Hi there.
I've created a test xVCD to see the results on my DVD player. Well it wasn't great, the video was very shocky and stuttery. These are the options I used

    PAL:
    Resolution : 720x576
    Bitrate : 2000 (constant)

    NTCS:
    Res: 720x480
    Bitrate : 2000 (constant)

The playback was very shocky, is this because of the High Resolutions? Or are my CD's not good for xVCD? Or does my DVD player (Aiwa DV370) just suck on xVCD????

    Hope someone can help !

  2. I had a similar problem. I was using a bitrate of 1900. I've got a pretty good player - Pioneer 343.

What I can't understand is that there seem to be many people encoding at bitrates up to 2600 and beyond with no problem.

I've decided to stick with the VCD standard 1150.

  3. Do you mean that you create xVCD on the bitrate of 1150 or do you mean you just use the VCD standart (inc. bitrate) at 352x240/288 ?
If you mean the xVCD type at 1150, do they play okay?

I've too heard the max bitrate was around 2500, but I 'only' used 2000 and it was shocky as love...
