I'm having some oddball sound and video problems. First off, I'm running Win2k SP3 with MediaPlayer 7.1 and DivX 5.0.2 installed. On several of my downloaded video files, I'm getting sound but no picture (ie. the video freezes on the first frame) unless I maximize MediaPlayer to full screen, at which point it looks fine.
I ran it through TMPGEnc to convert the AVIs to VCD-format, but when I do, I get video/no sound.
The file details say they are in DivX format, but I do have 5.0.2 installed, and did have the Nimo packs installed and didn't fix the problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled MP7.1 and Divx, no change.
Ideas? I'm sure it's a codec problem, but I've had every DivX codec installed with no change. This is bugging me no end. Thanks for any help.

try playing the divx movies in the divx media player, which i believe comes with the codec.
