Due to problems I have been having with the AverTV bundled software (see my other post), I have been testing out other PVR software (Power DVR, WinDVR,NanoDVR etc), but whilst all see to recognise my AverTV Studio card, they only seem to recognise upto channel 62, which is a shame since channel 64 is BBC2 in my Area.

has anyone seen this? is there a cure?

It is capable of tuning up to 900 Mhz or so. What channels it tunes is dependent on what 'region' you choose. For the US you use NTSC-M. If you use the other one, it's still NTSC, but the channel lineup is different. Try a differnt region setting to see if you can get it to tune correctly.

You can also try to manually set it, that is if you have a frequency chart, and know your channel spacing( like 8 Mhz channel spacing and 6 Mhz audio subcarrier versus the US 6 Mhz channel spacing and 4.5 Mhz audio subcarrier). Play with the cable/off air as well the upper cable channels are towards the beginning of the off-air channels ( the UHF ones).

I use the latest drivers and Application from the Averm website for my AverTV Studio.Autoscan or scan should go up to channel 69 in the Pal-I waveband (UK).If you go into settings in the application you can manually input a tick against the channel number by double clicking.I don't know if this helps.Good luck.
