  1. Hi!

I have a 1.4 GB DiVX file that is XviD MPEG-4 Codec. Resolution 608x256 23.976 fps.
The audio stream per VirtuaDub is:
    Sampling rate - 48000hz
    Channels: 2 (Stereo)
    Sample precision: 0-bit
    Compression: Unknown (tag 2000)
    Preload skew: 0 samples (0.00s)
    # of frames: 1457
    Min/avg/max/total frame size: 27152/131000/131072(186395k)

The problem is, I want to convert the file to MPEG 2 for DVD authoring. I typically would run virtuadub on my DivX files to extract a PCM uncompressed WAV from the AVI file. I then would use TMPGenc to transcode the Video - AVI, and Audio - WAV to a DVD compliant MPG file. This time, Virtuadub will NOT process the AVI file. I receive the following error: "The requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate and channel count of the input match those of the requested format." What is this? I set the conversion to "none" and compression to "uncompressed PCM" like I normally do. What is different with this file? I am thinking that it might have AC3 audio, but even then TMPGenc will not process the AVI file itself. Looking for some help....cause you people all kick a$$! So much usefull information here!!

    Thanks,
    Joe

  5. Get BeSplit and BeSliced (GUI for BeSplit) from www.doom9.org (Download/Audio Tools/Show Me More) to fix your AC3 stream. Then try again.

  6. I fixed my AC3 stream and then convert it into wav using headac3he, but the sound comes out as multiple squeaks instead of normal audio.

    Why is this happening?
