Before I trash the source files on my home videos which have been edited and made into DVDs, I want to know if I will be able to go back and extract/re-edit the material from the DVD vob files if necessary. Is there a simple, quality tool to do this? I tried just changing the vob extention to mpg; this allowed viewing with Windows Media Player, but would not open in Studio for editing.
Source video is from Sony DCR-PC9 (miniDV), edited, rendered and compiled with Pinnacle Studio 8, and burned DVD with Nero.
