i mean first you couldnt make a audio-cd without converting the mp3.s to wav but now you can. some codec or so right!

  2. Short answer: NO

If you load your avi to a Wizard that spits out a VCD, that means that the Wizard did all the job of encoding and burning you would normally do separately (e.g. TMPGEnc and NERO).

Look at the WHAT IS VCD section on the left...

  3. NO ,Avi's must be converted to a vcd mpeg1 standard. The only program I use (nero 5.5) let you drag avi's into a vcd session but when u are ready to burn it goes thru the process of converting your avi's to MPEG1 VCD (which could take hours). I wouldnt recommend it either. Nero is great for burning but its an average VCD encoder. I always use TMPGEnc its better than most commercial software.

And By the way with audio cd's , Mp3's that u drag into an audio session are always converted to wav right before they are burned to the cd in CDA format.
