I'm trying to convert ordinary mpeg1-files to divx 5.02 with mp3. For some reson the sound gets gradually unsynced, but the sourcefile is fine. Is there any option for this when encoding, or do I have to split the video and audio and correct this in an audio-program?

ya the info is here on vcd help .
your video is not the 23.97 or 29.97 frame rate standard . your computer can keep everything in sync , but dvd players can't , their dumb, they need one of 2 stanards.
here is the fix . extract the audio from the movie and save it as a wav.
then when you use tmpeg you will see in the load video it asks you 4 a mpg or avi to convert, underneath that box it asks for an audio location , give it the location of the wav.
