quick question about divx (please help)

I want to convert my divx to vcd, but im not sure which step to take. I am not sure weather its divx or avi, Are they the same. the reason why i think this is because i downloaded it off of kazza and it said it was divx, but i right clicked it and went to properties and it said the filename was (dumb and dumber.avi) so which one is it divx or avi, or are they both the same thankx a lot

My guess is that:
* you are not familiar w/ diff. between AVI and divX
* you are NEW to avi/divX
* and, 99% movie clips from kaza etc. are divX

It is wise to assume that your file is of divX nature.
Yes, it's a divX more likely.

You wont find anyone puting straight AVI files on the internet unless
they rediculiously compressed w/ something like Indeo or one of those
rediculiously crazy codecs. Besides, in any case, a straight AVI would
more than likely be enormous in size. So, again, yes, its probably a divX
clip. ..proceed as such

In any case, if you are unfamiliar w/ the divX encoding or transfer to
other format processes, you should have a look over to your left (GREEN tabs) and
read all the guides and things. Check out the CONVERT(avi,dv,divX.. to vcd,svcd,dvd..)
And also the other GREEN tabs.
