Linear Quantizer in DVD2DVD-R, What does it?

Can any1 tell me what Linear quantizer in DVD2DVD-R does? Iaccidently let it unchecked eventhough when I checked with biterate viewer it said it WAS linear. Will I end up with garbage? tell me I don't have to reencode it.

@ Neoh, I have not had to use the Quantizer Linear function as of yet, and I have never used bitrateviewer. I use DVD2AVI and/or Vobrator, but I can tell you that if you are using movies which are "interlaced" then you need to have that Linear Quantizer scale box checked. Hopefully the film you were reencoding wasn't interlaced. If you hit the "help" tab in DVD2DVDR and scroll down to the very bottom, Chat Walker lists what options are best suited for both Progressive and Interlaced films. Use that info and you should be fine.

For the movie it came out perfect, so I still have no clue on what it does
