    Hi

    I have a problem with the film Swordfish.

    I've ripped and muxed it with dvd2dvd-r and with authoring mode on IfoEdit....(english audio and dutch subtitles)

    Everything is going alright no errors or what so ever.....

    But when i wanna play the movie in PowerDVD i have no subtitles even after selecting it (i have all the needed files)...

    CellTimes.txt
    Checked_Audio_0x80_English.AC3
    Info.txt
    ORIGINAL.IFO
    Subtitle_0x23_Dutch.SUP
    Video_0xE0.AVS
    Video_0xE0.d2v
    Video_0xE0_NEW.M2V

  2. i had the exact same problem.

    so i decided to use maestro to author and subrip for the subs.
    everything turned out great.

  4. either i am reading your post wrong or you didnt get my point.

    i used dvd2dvdr to get the m2v, ac3 and the .sup files like you did.

    then like you i used ifoedit to author them back together but when i played them back in powerdvd i had no subtitles.

    so i put the m2v and ac3 files into maestro to author and reripped the film in dvddecrypter so i could use subrip to get the subs in a .son file which maestro accepts.
    compiled it and the subtitles worked.

    tried a few films with ifoedit but never had a subtitle work yet so i think i will stick to maestro.

  5. i suggest you should use vobedit for your subtitles if you are going to author with ifoedit. just follow this guide form step 3 and on and your subtitles will play just fine.http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/ifoedit-dvdauthor.htm

    @thingimijig

    I think you don't readed my post wrong and i know what you meaned by your first post but there are more ways of making backups..

    When a film doens't need to be reencoded (which i, with this film, found out after using dvd2dv-r...... ) i decrypt in file mode and use ifoedit to make a direct backup.

    But your way is a good one but i hate meastro (don't ask me why) i rater use scenarist which i think works much easier...but again with this film you don't need to author..

    @ghoster

    I will give it a try.....thanks....
