i have got 2 questions that i hope that somebody can help me with:

1.i have got a film that i could not play on my computer and it was suggested to myself that i could play it using a prog called vlc and it did work my prob is that i cant get it to convert into mpeg so that i can put it onto disk. i have tried virtual dub and tmpgenc but all it reports is error messages.
2.i have been given a video on cd of a wedding and the author has left the date and time on can the date and time b removed and if so how.

i hope that somebody can help.
