DVD Widescreen Help

alot of the dvd's i have say its widescreen...but when i play it on my tv...the black bars dont show up and it pisses me off cause i'm missing the ends of the movies...can someone tell me why there not playing in widescreen format...thanks

check your viewing settings in your dvd player. if it is set to "full screen" or "pan & scan" disable that and set it to widescreen.

you may need to czech your owners manual to figure out how to do this.

also, you may want to see if you can control that through the movie itself, because some movies (such as "snatch&quot give you the option of watching the widescreen version. that is not controlled by your dvd player, they just have the same movie on the dise. one being widescreen, the other full screen.
